Babila Rakwal reviews working of Cooperative department
JAMMU, JANUARY 11: Secretary, Cooperative Department, Babila Rakwal, today held a meeting with senior officers of both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir to review district wise progress of Cooperative Societies at Civil Secretariat here.
Registrar, Cooperative Societies J&K, Mohammad Shafiq, Director Finance, Cooperative Department; Additional Secretary, Cooperative Department, ARCS, Joint Registrar, Cooperatives (B&F); Joint Registrar Cooperatives Audit, Joint Registrar Cooperatives Special and all Deputy Registrars from both the divisions attended the meeting in person and virtually.
The Deputy Registrars from all districts of the UT gave a power point presentation regarding various issues including present status of functional and non-functional Co-operative Societies and deliverables in respect of new registration of PACS, FPOs, revival of defunct Cooperatives, audit of Cooperative Societies, conduct of awareness camps and training of members.
The Secretary directed the Deputy Registrars to explore possibilities of utilizing existing vacant godowns of Cooperative department so that 5 grain storage godowns could be developed in each district. She also directed them to take necessary steps for setting up of five Jan Aushadi Kendras in each district through PACS by March 2024.
The Secretary stressed upon the concerned officers to complete Capex works in a time bound manner. She said one PACS is to be identified per district and projected as a model PACS and Co-operatives have to identify GI tagged product in their respective districts while applying for National Cooperatives Export limited.
She asked the concerned to provide quality study material and video clips to the trainees to improve their knowledge and skills in Cooperatives. She said that all the outlets and selling points would be digitized and items produced by Cooperatives to be displayed and sold at Cooperatives Super Bazar marketing platforms.
