Commissioner Secretary GAD joins Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Chirdi Panchayat, Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 11: Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), Sanjeev Verma, today visited  Chirdi Kunddan Dubbar panchayat of Narsoo block in Udhampur district and conducted a mega public outreach event organized under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur, Lal Chand, DDC member Narsoo, Subash Chander, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other district officers besides general public of adjoining panchayats participated in the event

DDC Chairperson, DDC member and general public of the area projected several demands and issues like maintenance and repairing of link roads, slow progress on JJM works,  upgradation of Government High Schools to Higher Secondary School, upgradation of Government Middle Schools to High School,  forest clearance, establishment of K V school and Veterinary centre, scarcity of drinking water, opening of ration depot in every panchayat and construction of sports stadium.

While addressing the gathering, Commissioner Secretary emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of fostering development, engaging with government schemes, and achieving saturation under citizen-centric initiatives through VBSY.

Emphasizing the quality of development works, the Commissioner Secretary asked the executing agencies to conduct regular site visits for effective monitoring of vital projects. He emphasized the role of trees in protection of environment and human survival and urged upon all stakeholders to plant more and more trees.

He called upon all the stakeholders to work out the future course of action for increasing the production and productivity of cash crops. He  stressed on promotion of mushroom cultivation, organic farming to increase agriculture income. He added   that government is making all efforts for sustained growth of agriculture sector by introducing several innovative measures to enable farmers get maximum returns from their land.

During the event, Commissioner Secretary distributed brush cutters and power tillers among the beneficiaries. He also administered pledge to the participants for Viksit Bharat.\

On the occasion, the beneficiaries shared their experiences, success stories under the Meri Kahani Meri Zubani initiative.

DDC Chairperson also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of district administration and various departments for effective implementation of government schemes.

Later, Commissioner Secretary along with DDC Chairperson inspected stalls set up by different departments at the event to create awareness regarding their respective schemes. He encouraged the public to avail full advantage of government schemes tailored for their socio-economic uplift.
