DC Kathua reviews Republic Day arrangements

KATHUA, January 12: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas presided over a crucial meeting of officers of different departments here today to strategise and coordinate arrangements for the District level Republic Day 2024 celebration function.

The focal point of the celebration will be the Kathua Sports Stadium, where the chief guest will unfurl the National Flag, followed by a parade comprising 46 contingents from J&K Police, PTS, Home Guards, NCC cadets, and students from both government and private educational institutions. The festivities will commence with a melodious Shehnai Vadan by the Information department in the wee hours of the day.

Comprehensive discussions were held on the key aspects, including drinking water provisions, power supply, sanitation, barricading, security measures, traffic regulation, seating arrangements, fire-tenders, medical teams, and the illumination of government buildings and important landmarks.

Emphasizing the importance of meticulous planning, the Deputy Commissioner urged departmental heads to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place well ahead of time, fostering a seamless and enthusiastic atmosphere for the National event. He directed officers to enhance coordination efforts, underscoring the need for collective action to ensure the grand success of the celebration.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner called upon district and sectoral officers to oversee the arrangements for flag unfurl ceremonies in all government offices across the district.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including DC State Taxes Ranjit Singh, ADC Kathua Ranjeet Singh, CPO Ranjeet Thakur, XEN Jal Shakti, XEN PDD, and other senior officers from Civil Administration and Police, reflecting a collaborative and integrated approach to organizing this significant event.
