83 Hardcore Narco-Smugglers Arrested in Short Span: SSP Samba Benam Tosh

SAMBA, 16 January: Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police achieved major success on anti-heroin front on Tuesday, arrested 3 hardened heroin suppliers, recovered ‘desi katta’, heroin and cash from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Post Supwal, Police Station Samba.

The arrested heroin suppliers have been identified as Abdul Habib alias Beem s/o Mau Din r/o Nanake Chack, Badheri, Samba, Basharat Ali alias Bishu s/o Raham Ali r/o Barian Supwal and Mohd. Sabar alias Pallu s/o Shab Ali r/o Barian Supwal, Samba.

While Abdul Habib alias Beem has been arrested in case FIR No. 17/2024 u/s 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act, 3/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Supwal, Basharat Ali alias Bishu and Mohd. Sabar alias Pallu have been arrested in case FIR No.18/2024 u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Samba. Further investigation is underway. One motorcycle has also been seized by the police.

One ‘desi katta’, heroin valuing rupees 16000.00 approximately and cash amounting to Rs 7200 has been recovered from the possession of dreaded heroin supplier Abdul Habib alias Beem, whereas heroin valuing Rs 7000 approximately and cash amounting to Rs 2500 has been recovered from the possession of Basharat Ali alias Bishu and Mohd. Sabar alias Pallu who have been caught red-handed while selling heroin (‘chitta’). Initial investigation revealed that the hardcore heroin smugglers used to supply heroin to the youth of Samba and adjoining areas, especially in the morning and evening hours.

Earlier, in the year 2022 also, heroin supplier Abdul Habib alias Beem was arrested for drug peddling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba and a case FIR No. 123/2022 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against him which was proved, challaned and is still under trial.

SSP Samba said that 83 hardcore narcotics smugglers and suppliers have been arrested by Samba Police in short span of time and stringent possible action under law is being taken against them.
