J&K police chief extends heartfelt Gurupurab greetings; reiterates devotion to community welfare

Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police R R Swain, extended warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Gurupurab, the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

In his heartfelt message, the DGP conveyed his best wishes to the families of martyrs, the dedicated personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the people of J&K, particularly the Sikh community.

In his message, the Director General of Police (DGP) expressed that the life and teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the warrior-saint, are particularly relevant for a Policeman.

The DGP emphasized that much like the Guru who embodied both ‘firmness’ and ‘kindness’, the J&K Police should strive to be resolute against injustice while maintaining compassion. The officers and personnel of J&K Police are urged to be guided by the principles of love, service to humanity, belief in equality, and utmost respect for all religions.

The DGP stressed the importance of humility and clarified that there should be no room for inaction or indecisiveness when dealing with crime, falsehood, fraud, intimidation, and injustice. The DGP called for a collective pledge to serve communities with honesty, dedication, and humility.

He extended his prayers for the peace, stability, and development of Jammu and Kashmir, envisioning a scenario where people can enjoy their daily activities to the fullest.
