Promoting Sustainable Agriculture through HADP: Awareness camps organised in Palmar, Dachan Organic Clusters
KISHTWAR, JANUARY 17: In a significant stride towards promoting sustainable agricultural practices, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare organized awareness camps at three organic clusters here to promote “Alternate Agriculture System for Sustainability,” a project initiated under the Horticulture and Agriculture Development Project (HADP) .
The first camp took place at Fatna Palmar, focusing on detailed training on organic farming methods for cultivating crops and vegetables.
Participants were educated on the use of organic inputs, preparation of Jeevamruit/Panchgavya liquid manure, composting, and other sustainable practices.
The event witnessed the presence of DDC Palmar, Tahir Masood, Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Amjad Hussain Malik, District Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Manzoor Ahmed Zargar (SDAO Marwah) and field staff dedicated to the organic cluster in Khattan Fatna Palmar.
The session concluded with the distribution of organic components/inputs.
Another two awareness camps were conducted in the organic clusters of Loharna and Lopara at Sounder Dachhan.
Similar training on organic cultivation techniques, use of organic inputs, and the preparation of Jeevamruit/Panchgavya liquid manure and composting was provided.
The event saw the presence of Chief Agriculture Officer, Amjad Hussain Malik, District Agriculture Officer, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Manzoor Ahmed Zargar (SDAO Marwah) and the field staff of Dachhan block.
Organic components/inputs were distributed to further encourage sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
These awareness camps underlined the commitment of the district administration to promote eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural methods, ensuring the adoption of organic practices for the benefit of farmers and the environment.
