ICSSR sponsored Ten Days’ Research Methodology Program Concludes at CUJ

Jammu, 18th Jan 2024: The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu organised a 10 days’ Research Methodology Course sponsored byIndianCouncil of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The workshop was intended to disseminate knowledge relating to the methods and methodology in Social Sciences research.

During the ten days course, altogether 40 technical sessions were conducted covering different aspects of research methodology. The inaugural session of the course was held on 8th January, 2024. For the workshop 1256 registrationswere received from 55 different Universities, out of which 30 participants were selected. Out of 30 participants, 10 were selected from the Universities outside the state, 10 from the other Universities of the State and 10 from our own University. The participants were from diverse disciplines including Management, Economics, Commerce, Education, Social Work etc.  The sessions during the next nine days were conducted by the eminent Professors from Central University of Haryana, Delhi University, IIM Jammu, Gujarat State University, University of Jammu, SKUAST Jammu and Central University of Jammu

On the valedictory session of the program today, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor grace the occasion as Chief Guest and Sh. Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner-Samba was the Guest of Honour.

Prof Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the department for organising the workshop. He accentuated the significance of the workshop to disseminate the knowledge about the research tools and technique to produce quality publication. Further he emphasised that learning from this course shall help the scholars to improve the quality of research and publications.

Sh. Abhishek Sharma, DC Samba deliberated deeply on various aspects of research and connected contemporary research to ancient research. He also discussed that India was the epicentre of knowledge in the past but due to some reasons it took another way. He also exhorted the scholars to accept the challenge to connect their research to ancient research.

Prof Yashwant Singh, Registar CUJ emphasized the university’s commitment to providing robust support mechanisms for research endeavors, encouraging scholars to explore innovative avenues.

Prof Jaya Bhasin, Dean School of Business Studies shared valuable perspectives on the essence of conducting good research within the Central University of Jammu. Prof Ajai Pal Sharma- Course Director deliberated about the Workshop and Dr Naresh Kumar Sharma, Course Co Director presented the detailed report of the 10 days proceedings.

 Dr Anju Thapa, conducted the proceedings of the event while Dr Neelika Arora, presented a formal vote of thanks.
