Mega Rally Galvanises National Road Safety campaign in Doda District

DODA January 19: In a collaborative effort of the District Administration  Doda, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) and other line departments, a mega national road safety rally unfolded here today as part  of the month long National Road Safety campaign. 

Orchestrated under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and supervised by ARTO Rajesh Gupta, the event emanated an aura of enthusiasm here at the Sports Stadium, serving as the main venue for the grand rally. 

The mega rally traversed multiple venues, witnessing spirited participation from key figures such as Deputy Commissioner DODA, SSP Doda, ARTO Doda, ACD Doda, district officers, students, drivers, and cleaners. Their collective passion underscored a shared dedication towards championing road safety measures. 

The Sports Stadium was adorned with colorful banners and buntings, each imparting messages advocating road safety measures.

A substantial gathering, consisting students from both government and private institutions, participated in the rally dedicated to the road safety month. The proceedings commenced with a solemn pledge ceremony emphasizing the significance of road safety and the precautions imperative for travel, particularly in hilly terrains. Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, joined by SSP Abdul Qayoom, graced the occasion, urging students to not only adhere to road safety measures themselves but also to disseminate the message among their peers.

Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh shared that the National Road Safety Month is a month-long celebration aimed at promoting awareness of road safety measures. Doda District, in collaboration with MVD Doda, has taken the initiative to conduct a month-long mega event comprising various activities. These include medical camps, painting competitions, and other engagements designed to foster awareness among the public regarding road safety measures. Expressing satisfaction, DC Harvinder Singh commended the district for its commendable efforts in promoting road safety awareness.

The mega event witnessed active participation from a spectrum of officials, including ACD, ASP, DSP Traffic, DSP DAR, DSP Headquarter, and various district officers. Additionally, drivers, cleaners, and students from both government and private institutions contributed to the success of the event. Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh reiterated the importance of collective efforts in spreading awareness and fostering a culture of road safety for the benefit of all.
