Arrangements for 14th National Voters’ Day discussed in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, January 19:  Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai led a meeting today here in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to deliberate on the arrangements and activity plan for the upcoming 14th National Voters’ Day scheduled on January 25, 2024. The theme for this year is “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure.”

Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Additional SP Anwar-Ul-Haq, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, Deputy District Election Officer Gurdev Kumar, and other senior officers from various departments.

The DC emphasized the need for a widespread awareness campaign across the district, aiming to enhance citizen participation in the electoral process, especially focusing on encouraging newly eligible voters. The officers were urged to work with heightened dedication and close coordination to ensure a vibrant and successful celebration.

The Information Department was directed to extensively publicize the program on social media platforms. The DC underscored the importance of involving the general public, prominent citizens, and students in the National Voters’ Day function, aiming to raise awareness about their right to vote and the significance of the democratic system.

During the meeting, it was decided that awareness programs and activities would be organized, engaging college and school students at the District, Subdivision, and Tehsil Levels. The goal is to spread awareness about the right to vote among voters and promote active participation in the democratic process.
