MVD Kishtwar conducts Road Safety Awareness Program at HPP Rattle
KISHTWAR, JANUARY 20: In a proactive effort to promote road safety, the District Motor Vehicle Department Kishtwar organized an impactful awareness program at the zero point road of the Rattle Hydro Power Project at Drabshalla.
The event, held as part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month 2024, witnessed the participation of 250 drivers and local citizens. The camp aimed to educate the drivers about safe practices and responsible driving.
Held under the supervision of ARTO Mohammad Saleem Manhas and pursuant to the directives of Chairman District Road Safety Committee, Dr. Devansh Yadav, the program successfully addressed critical aspects of road safety.
A free medical screening camp for drivers, conducted in partnership with health authorities was also held. As many as 150 drivers were screened free of cost.
This camp aimed to assess drivers’ health, particularly focusing on eyesight, ensuring they are fit for safe driving.
An awareness rally was also taken out from zero point to Drabshalla Market. The comprehensive awareness program emphasized key safety measures such as refraining from using mobile phones while driving, adhering to safe driving practices, observing recommended speed limits, and avoiding overloading. Participants were also educated on the importance of using safety equipment in vehicles to enhance overall road safety, besides ensure pollution certificates and necessary documents for the drivers and owners.
