DDC Baramulla reviews progress of works under NABARD & PMGSY
BARAMULLA, JANUARY 29: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of ongoing projects being executed under PMGSY and NABARD within the district.
During the meeting, the DDC was comprehensively apprised about physical and financial progress of the projects being undertaken by R&B department under NABARD and works under PMGSY.
It was also informed that a total of 66 works under NABARD were approved across all divisions of Baramulla, with a sanctioned amount of 307 crores allocated for the construction of 365 kilometers of road. Additionally, it was noted that funds totaling Rs.48 crore had been released, of which expenditure of Rs. 19.36 crore has been realized thus far.
Similarly, it was noted that under PMGSY, there are 222 sanctioned works with a budget of Rs. 777.76 crore for 792 kilometers of road construction. By March 2023, 175 schemes were completed, with 6 more finished in 2023, and 53 currently in progress with a cost realization of Rs. 525.72 crore.
The DDC, while reviewing the physical and financial progress of the taken up works, directed the concerned executing agencies to accelerate the pace of the work and complete the projects within the stipulated time.
He also conducted a review of the roads damaged during the installation of pipelines by JJM and instructed officials of both JJM and R&B departments to collaborate on assessing the costs associated with maintaining the roads affected by this pipeline installation.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Javid Ahmad; Superintending Engineer R&B, Reyaz Ahmad Parry; DDM NABARD, Zubair Wasil; Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE and PMGSY and other district officers.
