J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organises Rashtree Dogri Kavi Sammelan in Jammu
JAMMU, January 30: JKAACL organised RASHTREE DOGRI KAVI SAMMELAN at Abhinav Theatre Jammu, today. This is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that Rashtree Dogri Kavi Sammelan is being organised by JKAACL under the directions of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha. Popular Poets of J&K joined the event organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages to celebrate 75th Republic Day.
The event was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Sh. Suresh Kumar Gupta, IFS, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture in the presence of Sh. Bharat Singh, JKAS, secretary, JKAACL, Padamshree Mohan Singh and other guests. On the occasion, Sh. Bharat Singh, JKAS, Secretary, JKAACL welcomed the veteran and acclaimed poets and the guests.
He highlighted the important role of Dogri language in the art and culture of the region. He added that we can give this language its due credit only if we start speaking Dogri at home and women can play a major role in doing so by guiding their children to speak in Dogri.
Today’s Sammelan witnessed the participation of renowned poets like Padamshree Mohan Singh, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Padamshree Jitender Udhampuri, Sh. Prakash Premi, Sh. Vijay Sharma, Sh. Ashok Angurana, Sh. Vijay Verma, Sh. Naseeb Singh Manhas, Sh. Susheel Begana, Smt. Vijaya Thakur, Sh. Bishan Singh Dardi, Sh. Brij Mohan, Smt. Promila Manhas, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Sh. Narinder Singh Chib, Sh. Abdul Qadir Kundriyan, Pawan Verma, Sh. Yash Paul Yash, Sh. Kuldeep Kippi, Ranbir Singh Chib and Sahil Badyal. The event was presided over by Padma Shree Mohan Singh. Sh. Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Culture Department; in his concluding address stated that main motive for organising this event was to boost the Dogri Language.
He added that this Rashtree Dori Kavi Sammelan will be a regular feature in the coming years. Many renowned artists and people, especially the youth in large number were present on the occasion. Smt. Reeta Khadyal, in -charge program presented the vote of thanks. Ms. Amar Chouhan ably presented the proceedings of the event.
