Court of Adjudicating Office (ADC) imposes Rs 3.30 lakh fine on erring Food Business Operators
KISHTWAR, JANUARY 31: The Court of Adjudicating Office spearheaded by Adjudicating Officer/ (ADC) Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar has imposed Rs3.30 lakh fine on Food business operators found guilty of violating regulations.
The judgment was delivered after a thorough hearing of the complaint filed by the Food Safety Officer Kishtwar.
The Court found one manufacturer and three business operators/retailers guilty of selling substandard food items in the district, a clear violation under Section 26/51/52 of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) 2006, along with the Rules and Regulations of 2011 made thereunder.
The manufacturer faced a substantial penalty of Rs 3.00 lakh while each of the three business operators/retailers were imposed fine of Rs.10,000/- for their involvement in distributing substandard food products.
The action reinforces the commitment of the Court of Adjudicating Office Kishtwar to ensure the highest standards of food safety and protect the well-being of the community. The judgment serves as a stern warning to all food business operators to adhere strictly to the prescribed regulations to maintain the integrity of the food supply chain.
