DDC Chairman reviews developmental scenario in District Rajouri
RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 01: District Development Council Chairman Rajouri, Advocate Naseem Liyaqat on Thursday chaired a crucial meeting to review the developmental scenario of the district here at a joint meeting with DDC Members and officers hled in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak bungalow.
Vice Chairperson District Development Council Shabir Khan and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat were also present in the meeting.
The CEO District Development Council Pawan Kumar highlighted accomplishments under the District Capex Budget, SSY, APDP, ABDP, TSP, and UT Capex. The Chairman directed the BDOs to meet set deadlines for physical and financial targets. It was informed that a substantial progress has been achieved under PMAY-G and Awas Plus with the completion of 36,648 houses out of the target of 62,343.
Turning attention to the Health Sector, the DDC Chairman reviewed the status of 42 works, directing executing agencies to expedite progress. The meeting was further told that 400 works out of 434 works have been completed by Ground Water and Drilling division .
During the deliberations, the DDC Members also raised crucial issues of their respective areas and sought repair of roads, augmentation of water supply in areas facing scarcity, amplification of healthcare infrastructure, construction of new roads, provision of electricity poles, repair of handpumps, speedy implementation of JJM schemes and RDSS, completion of work on Badala Mang Bridge and circular road, augmentation of power infrastructure, strengthening of receiving stations etc. The Chairman passed necessary directions to the concerned officers for the early redressal of the issues.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat emphasized the importance of a cohesive partnership between administration and elected public rperesenattaives. He encouraged DDC members to work side by side with the administration, leveraging their collective expertise and local insights to contribute significantly to the overall progress and well-being of the district. Additionally, DC Om Prakash Bhagat directed officers to expedite the pace of progress and adhere to the set timelines for ongoing projects so that necessary benefits are provided to the general public with the completion of the projects.
The DDC Chairman directed the officers to enhance efforts in implementing government schemes on the ground and ensure maximum benefits for the public. Emphasizing coordination between officers and public representatives, he aimed for better results in developmental works and infrastructure creation.
He directed Executive Engineers to mobilize additional resources for timely project completion and ensure efficient resource utilization. The Chairman sought timely identification and resolution of developmental bottlenecks for public interest. Furthermore, the DDC Chairman, Advocate Naseem Liyaqat highlighted the need for the 2024-25 financial year plan to be formulated in strict accordance with the consensus of DDC Members, emphasizing a collaborative and inclusive decision-making process.
The DDC Chairman also proposed the construction of chowks in the city to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance safety measures to prevent incidents. This strategic suggestion aims at improving traffic flow and overall urban planning. Additionally, the Chairman emphasized the need for the construction of GDC Koteranka, highlighting its significance in addressing developmental requirements and catering to the educational needs of the community.
Furthermore, the Chairman directed the concerned officers to prioritize and expedite the installation of handpumps, emphasizing the importance of swift completion. This directive underscores the commitment to providing essential services like clean water to the community promptly, ensuring the well-being of residents in the district. He also emphasized the need for timely repair of handpumps. Stressing the importance of functional handpumps for community well-being, these instructions aimed at ensuring swift and efficient maintenance to address any issues promptly.
In conclusion, the comprehensive joint meeting underscored the commitment of the district administration and DDC Members to accelerate the pace of development in Rajouri. The emphasis on timely project completion, resource optimization, and community involvement reflects a holistic approach towards sustainable growth and improving the quality of life for the residents of the district.
