Road Safety awareness event held at Trial Ground Bhaderwah

DODA, FEBRUARY 9: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Doda, on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and under the supervision of ARTO Rajesh Gupta on Friday, organized a road safety awareness campaign in Trial Ground Bhaderwah. The event took place at the Bhaderwah trial ground, as part of the ongoing celebration of National Road Safety Month. The initiative aimed to educate the general public and new driving license (DL) seekers about road safety measures.

During the event, an oath on road safety was administered by the Motor Vehicles Department, with the participation of new DL seekers, the driving community, and MVD officials.

The ceremony emphasized the importance of adhering to road safety guidelines and precautions. Large banners promoting road safety were prominently displayed, drawing a significant crowd of local residents and drivers from the community.

ARTO Doda addressed the audience, stressing the significance of practicing safety measures, especially in hilly terrains. He urged newly licensed drivers and the driving community to prioritize safety while driving, emphasizing the unique challenges of navigating mountainous roads. Additionally, ARTO Doda highlighted the ongoing celebration of National Road Safety Month and reiterated the department’s commitment to promoting safe driving practices.

In addition to the event, emphasis was placed on specific safety measures crucial for driving in hilly areas. These included maintaining a safe speed, staying vigilant of road conditions, utilizing headlights during foggy conditions, and adhering to designated lanes. Furthermore, drivers were encouraged to undergo proper training for handling challenging terrain and to regularly inspect their vehicles for optimal performance and safety.
