Walkathon organised to promote Road safety habits among students

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 09: As part of ongoing National Road Safety Month, an impressive Walkathon was held today to promote road safety awareness among the students.

The walkathon was flagged off by RTO Jammu Pankaj Bhagotra in presence of CEO Jammu, Jagdeep Padha witnessing participation of students of Government Higher Secondary School Domana.

 Speaking on the occasion, the RTO Jammu said that every year Lakhs of people fall victim to rash driving and it is important to realize the significance of imbibing road safety habits in day today life to save lives. “We want to reduce the number of accidents by over 50% and for that, it is important to create awareness on road safety among locals,” said the RTO Jammu.

The CEO asked the school administration concerned to conduct regular awareness programmers, mock drills, to motivate students to encourage their friends and family members.

 Earlier also an awareness camp to sensitize drivers for road safety was also organized at Driving Trial Test Ground Nagrota Jammu.

Among others ARTO Hq. Rehana Tabassam, Principal Govt. Hr. Sec. School Domana, Staff Members and students are present on the occasion.
