Crime Branch Jammu presents charge-sheet in fraud & Cheating case

JAMMU Feb 10 : special crime’ Wing – crime Branch Jammu presented 604 pages charge-sheetagainst accused persons – (1) sonu Gupta s/o Niranjan Dass Gupta R/o chak Aslam Tehsil R.s Pura District Jammu (2) Gourav Gupta s/o Late puran chand R/o ward No. 10, Tehsil R’s Pura nad DistrictJammu and (3)shashi Gupta s/o Niranjan Dass Gupta R/o chak Aslam Tehsil R.S Pura DistrictJammu in case FtR No.23312019 u/s42o,120-8 lpc p/s RS pura
being investigated by lnspector Rajesh Kumar verma l/o of special crime wing,crime
Branch Jammu under overall supervision of sandeep Kumar Mehta(JKps) ssp,spl crime
wing crime Branch Jammu in the Hon’ble court, Munsif R.s.pura Jammu after their
involvement in cheating and duping the innocent farmers.

A written complaint was lodged by the complainant namely Tirath singh s/o sh.
Sant Singh R/O Karan Bagh Tehsil Gadi Garh District Jammu against the 03 persons namely
(L) sonu Gupta (2) shashi Gupta, both sons of Niranjan Dass Gupta R/o chak Aslam Tehsil
R.s Pura District Jammu and (3) Gourav Gupta s/o Late sh. puran chand R/o wNo. 9,
Tehsil R.s Pura, District Jammu, for cheating and duping the innocent farmers of their
harvest and hard earned money. They collected bulk of paddy and wheat from local
farmers promising them of handsome profit but did not even pay the actual cost of the
same, thereby swindling the money worth crores of rupees. Upon this complaint, a case
FIR No. 233/2019 UIS 42O IPC was registered in Police Station R.S pura Jammu. Later on
the investigation of the case was transferred to crime Branch Jammu by pHe J&K Jammu.
During the course of investigation, it was found that the accused persons were
running three firms jointry namery (1) M/s Ashoka Traders at chack Asram R.s pura Jammu
in the name ofaccused person sonu Gupta s/o Niranjan Dass Gupta R/o chakAsram Tehsir
R’S Pura DistrictJammu.(2) M/s Rakesh Rice Mi, R/o pindi sarocha, R.s pura,Jammu, in
the name of proprietor sonu Gupta s/o Niranjan Dass Gupta and one puran chand who
is the father of accused Gourav Gupta. (3) M/s lnternational cattle Feed @sona feed at
Village Jindalehar; R.s pura, Jammu, registered in the name of sonu Gupta s/o Niranjan
Dass Gupta and puran chand who is the father of accused Gourav Gupta accused persons.

Puran chand s/o Late sh. Niranjan Dass was not actively involved in the business due to
health reasons and due to proronged iilness, he died in 201g. The third accused namery
shashi Gupta was an employee of J&K bank, thus no firm was registered in his name, but
he was actively involved in the said business as evident from statements of witnesses and
FSL report also confirms his handwritings on receipts issued to farmers/victims in lieu of
food grains received from farmers. Gourav Gupta s/o Late puran chand was arso found
actively involved in the business on behalf of his father as evident from statements of
witnesses and FSL report confirming his handwritings on receipts issued to
farmers/victims in rieu of food grains received from farmers. They arso accepted cash
deposits with the promise of high interest to be paid per month and finally cheated them,
thereby misappropriating with their hard-earned money. Therefore, the offence u/s 420,
120-8 lPc are furry estabrished proved against the 03 accused persons and charge_sheet
has been filed before the Hon’bre court of Law for Judiciar determination.
