2 drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama, heroin and charas seized

In a major crackdown on the drug trade, Pulwama Police apprehended two notorious drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of illegal substances during a routine check on Monday.

The operation unfolded near Maizban Hotel on Circular Road when officers intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK13H-8135. Upon inspection, they discovered suspicious items leading to the arrest of Riyaz Ahmad Wani and Faizan Gul, residents of Looswani and Dangerpora respectively.

A search of the vehicle yielded a substantial quantity of Heroin concealed in the driver’s pocket. Additionally, two slabs of Charas, two digital weighing machines, and a pack of 10 insulin syringes were found with the other occupant.

Despite questioning, neither individual could provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing the contraband. Consequently, a case under sections of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and a thorough investigation is underway.
