DDC reviews progress of Holistic Agriculture Development Plan in Reasi

  REASI, FEBRUARY 13: District Development Commissioner, Reasi Vishesh Mahajan today chaired a meeting with key officers to assess the latest achievements under the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan in the district.

Sukhdev Singh Sameyal, Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi; Dr. Sarfaraz Naseem Choudhary, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, CAO; CHO, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, AD Fisheries, District Sericulture Officer Reasi, and Agriculture Planning and Marketing Officer were present in the meeting.

 Dr. Sarfaraz Naseem Choudhary, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Reasi, provided a comprehensive review of all relevant sectors, focusing on the expenditure for the year 2023-24.

The DDC issued necessary instructions to expedite spending in areas where it is lacking and addressed bottlenecks, if any, faced by some departments in project implementation. Emphasizing the HADP’s crucial role in establishing a robust and profitable agricultural ecosystem, the DDC urged banks to fast-track loan processes, highlighting the initiative’s significance in supporting farmers.

He called upon departmental officers to ensure effective HADP implementation, aiming for the optimal benefit of farming communities. Stressing the prompt approval of loans under allied department schemes, the DDC’s emphasis on expeditious loan sanctioning reflects a proactive approach to meeting farmers’ financial needs and enhancing their well-being.

Furthermore, the DDC directed concerned officers to raise awareness among farmers about the schemes, complete targeted objectives before February 28, 2024, and create a database of farmers who have not availed the HADP Scheme.

He also urged officers to foster a people-friendly atmosphere for the effective implementation of these schemes on the ground and emphasized the initiation of special campaigns and advertisements to ensure every farmer is informed about the schemes.
