Road Safety Month: MVD B’la enhances Driver Safety with Eye Checkup & First Aid Training

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 14: As part of Road Safety Month, 2024 and the ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and prioritize driver well-being, Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Baramulla today organized an eye checkup and first aid training session for the driver community at the Sumo Stand, Baramulla.

Recognizing the importance of ensuring drivers are both physically fit and equipped with essential skills to handle emergencies on the road, MVD Baramulla collaborated with the health department to conduct the eye checkup and first aid training session. The event aimed to address two critical aspects of driver safety: visual health and emergency response.

The eye checkup provided drivers with the opportunity to assess their vision and address any potential issues that could impact their ability to operate vehicles safely. Additionally, the first aid training equipped drivers with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively to emergencies, thereby enhancing overall road safety.

On the occasion, Assistant Regional Transport officer (ARTO) Muazzam Ali said that promoting driver safety is a top priority for us, and initiatives like the eye checkup and first aid training are integral to achieving this goal. By addressing both physical health and emergency preparedness, our aim is to create safer roads and reduce the risk of accidents, he added.

The event received positive feedback from the driver community, with participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to prioritize their health and safety.
