KVK-Anantnag launches Training program on ‘Organic Fruit Production for Sustainable Agriculture’
ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 16: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Anantnag, affiliated with SKUAST-Kashmir today inaugurated a 4-day training program titled ‘Organic Fruit Production – A Way Forward’ as part of the HADP project, which focuses on ‘Alternate System of Agriculture for Sustainability.’
Dr. I. A. Mir, in his opening remarks, welcomed the participants, signaling the commencement of this significant initiative.
This training program aligns with the broader efforts of SKUAST-Kashmir, guided by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makdoomi, Director Extension & Education, Prof. H. R. Naik, Director Research, and Prof. Parmeet Singh, the Principal Investigator of the project.
Dr. Ishtiyaq A. Khan, Head of KVK-Anantnag and Training Coordinator, emphasized the growing global demand for organic food and underscored the importance of embracing organic practices.
During his address, Dr. Khan shed light on the scope and various aspects of organic fruit production, with a special focus on Jammu & Kashmir and the entire nation. The training program aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills related to sustainable agriculture practices, specifically in the context of organic fruit production.
This initiative is a step forward in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices, aligning with the increasing global trend towards organic farming.
