DC Doda denies recent reports of sinking houses, clarifies cracks are old issue
Harvinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Doda district has refuted recent reports claiming houses in the region are sinking. He clarified that the cracks observed in some structures are not a new development but were identified two years ago.
Singh appealed to the media to exercise caution and refrain from spreading “false/old news” that can cause unnecessary panic among the public. He confirmed that there have been no recent reports of houses sinking in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner’s statement comes in response to reports circulating online and in some media outlets suggesting houses in Doda district were experiencing structural issues and sinking. These reports reportedly caused concern among residents.
While Singh acknowledged the presence of cracks in some older structures, he emphasized that these were identified and addressed two years ago. He assured the public that the district administration is constantly monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of residents.
