3 drug peddlers arrested, 8 kg poppy straw seized in Bandipora
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Bandipora Police today arrested three individuals and seized a significant quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
Acting on specific information, a police team apprehended the accused at Aloosa and recovered 8 kilograms of poppy straw, a derivative of opium, from their possession.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Reyaz Ahmad Parra, son of Mohd Maqbool, hailing from Aadipora Sopore; Bashir Ahmad Malla, son of Wali Mohd, from Botangoo Sopore; and Gh Mohd Lone, son of Mohd Ramzan, residing in Kehnusa, Baramulla.
Police have also seized a vehicle bearing registration number JK05H/6710 used in the commission of crime which further strengthens the case against the accused.
According to police, a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bandipora Police Station.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the drugs and identify any potential accomplices.
