Babila Rakwal convenes Public Darbar at Rajpura block of Samba
SAMBA, FEBRUARY 27: Secretary, Cooperatives, Babila Rakwal today convened a Public Darbar at Rajpura block here to assess the public grievances as well as review the overall developmental profile of the area.
The Public Darbar witnessed overwhelming response from all sections of the society with delegations of former BDC members, former PRIs, social workers and community representatives participating in the event. They presented memorandum of demands and grievances before the Secretary, covering wide range of developmental and infrastructural issues concerning their respective areas.
During the Darbar, the delegations and public raised various issues before the Secretary like road connectivity, PMAY houses, Jal Jeevan Mission, border road connectivity, cleanliness in schools, illegal mining, consistent power supply for farming activities, requirement of ambulance for emergency, one block level tehsil headquarter and availability of veterinary facilities and dispensaries for the local population among others.
The Secretary gave patient hearing to the speakers and assured them their genuine issues will be immediately prioritized by the District Administration and matters pertaining to the Government shall be projected to the concerned departments for redressal.
Babila Rakwal urged district officers to enhance service delivery, emphasizing that it is crucial for Good Governance. The Secretary highlighted the need for increasing awareness on HADP to promote good farming practices and uplift farmer skills.
On the sidelines of the public darbar the Secretary also gave away a Tractor to farmer as part of extending facility of subsidised farming implements. She also handed over a Tractor and sanction letters among the beneficiaries.
Later, Babila Rakwal also felicitated local female runner who brought laurels by clinching Gold Medal for Samba.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma; Sub District Magistrate Ghagwal besides other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
