Workshop cum Board of Studies (BoS) meeting organized at SMVDU
REASI: A workshop cum Board of Studies (BoS) meeting was organized in the School of Mathematics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University to design the course structure and course curriculum according to NEP-2020.
The School of Mathematics is going to open a new programme B. Tech. in Mathematics and Computing in collaboration with School of Computer Science from the academic session 2024-25. In today’s digital world, this course has vast demand in public sector, corporate sector, industrial sector, manufacturing sector etc. After completing their degree in the said programme, students can be absorbed in these sectors.
Further, the four year under graduate (FYUG) programme as per NEP-2020 was also discussed in the workshop. Prof. Ghauri Shanker, Head, Department of Mathematics, Central University of Punjab, Professor Wali Mohammad Shah, Head, Department of Mathematics , Central University of Kashmir, Professor S. Peerzada, University of Kashmir, Professor Ajay. K. Sharma, Head, Department of Mathematics, Central University of Jammu, Prof Ramesh Kumar, Head, Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu attended the workshop.
All the faculty members of School of Mathematics were also present in the workshop. During the inaugural of the workshop, Dr. Kuldip Raj, Head, School of Mathematics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra welcome all the external experts in the workshop. During the proceeding of the workshop, detailed discussion and brain storming were done on the said programmes. Valuable suggestions and fruitful thoughts given by the experts were incorporated in the different programmes. Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University also attended the workshop and received feedback from the experts about the programmes. Vice Chancellor also admired all the experts for their valuable suggestions and active participation in the workshop. Dr. Sandeep Bhougal, Coordinator of the workshop gave the vote of thanks to all the experts and faculty members for successful completion of the workshop cum BoS.
