Authorities are advising commuters to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking, as this can lead to further congestion. The slow traffic is also attributed to yesterday’s down traffic (vehicles traveling from Jammu to Srinagar) which is yet to be cleared due to roadblocks at various points along the highway.
It is recommended to check the latest traffic updates before embarking on a journey on NH-44.
Travelers can contact the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police for real-time information on road conditions and any advisories in place.
