DC conducts comprehensive inspection of Polling Stations in Subdivision Nowshera

RAJOURI, MARCH 06: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat, accompanied by SSP Amrit Pal Singh, today undertook a comprehensive visit to several polling stations in subdivision Nowshera. The purpose of the visit was to assess and review the status of assured minimum facilities at these polling stations.

The Deputy Commissioner, meticulously inspected 19 polling stations: Nowshera-A, Nowshera, Qila Darhal, Kalsian, Kalsian-A, Chowki Handan-B, Chowki Handan, Khamba, Laroka-B, Laroka-A, Khamba-A, Khamba-B, Bhawani-A, Lam, Lam-A, Laroka-C, Kampla, Bhawani and Bhawani-B. The scrutiny encompassed a thorough examination of various essential facilities for the smooth  conduct of elections.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP engaged with the stakeholders to ensure that all necessary arrangements were in place to facilitate a smooth and efficient voting process. The basic minimum amenities such as electricity, water supply, sanitation facilities, and accessibility for differently-abled voters was assessed at these polling stations.

Expressing satisfaction with the overall preparedness observed during the visit, Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat underscored the importance of ensuring that all polling stations adhere to prescribed standards of ECI to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process. He reiterated the unwavering commitment of the administration to facilitating free, fair, and transparent elections, wherein every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right with confidence and ease.

The visit concluded with the instructions to the officers of concerned departments to put in place all efforts for smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Elections in the subdivision.
