International Women’s Day Celebrations: Series of activities held across Ramban; Marathon organised at Sangaldan
RAMBAN, MARCH 07: International Women’s Day celebration was held with great fever and active participation from the community in district Ramban.
A series of pre-events were organized as part of the celebrations, highlighting the significance of this global occasion.
The Department of Social Welfare, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, orchestrated a multitude of events aimed at raising awareness about women’s rights, pertinent legislations, and preventive measures against gender-based discrimination.
The activities encompassed various initiatives such as organizing Nukkad Nataks at different locations across District Ramban to propagate messages of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and to raise awareness about the PCPNDT Act. Additionally, a Marathon was organized in Zone Sangaldan, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of nearly 200 individuals.
Furthermore, the event featured a spectrum of activities including debates, slogan writing, painting competitions, skits, and more, fostering a more inclusive and participative approach towards raising awareness about women-oriented schemes and sensitizing society towards women empowerment.
District Social Welfare Officer Ramban, Rahul Gupta highlighted the collaborative efforts of multiple departments in organizing multifaceted activities with the clear objective of emphasizing that woman empowerment is the cornerstone for inclusive societal development.
He underscored the proactive stance of the Department of Social Welfare in championing the cause of women empowerment, ensuring that the message resonates beyond culmination of International Women’s Day celebrations. The Department of Social Welfare reaffirms its commitment to continue advocating for women empowerment, fostering a society where every woman is empowered to thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress.
