Congress protests against Modi govt, SBI over electoral bonds issue
Jammu, March 7- As part of nationwide programme, the JK Congress today held a strong protest demonstration against Modi Government and State Bank of India ( SBI) over the issue of non disclosure of requisite information regarding electoral bonds, as per orders of supreme Court and accused the government of pressurising the SBI to seek five months more time to disclose the information.
Apart from several district headquarters in Jammu region, a strong protest demonstration was held in Jammu at Shaheedi Chowk in which large number of senior leaders and activists including women & district, block workers participated. Working President JKPCC Raman Bhalla led the demonstration accompanied by Senior Vice Presidents Balwan Singh & Ravinder Sharma ( Chief Spokesperson) Vice presidents Yogesh Sawhney, Vinod Sharma, Naresh Gupta, District President Jammu Urban Th Manmohan Singh, besides other senior leaders, General Secretaries , secretaries, secretaries frontal heads, DCC Jammu urban & rural leaders & workers.
Raising slogans against Modi government and SBI , the Senior Congress leaders accused the government of pressurising the SBI to seek more time of five months in order to hide the vital information from the general public. The Modi government doesn’t want the requisite information from the SBI to be exposed which will expose the BJP govt on donations from corporates.
Raman Bhalla lashed out at the BJP govt for hiding the vital information from the public before elections since the supreme Court has held the scheme as illegal and unconstitutional. The disclosure will expose the BJP govt and corporate nexus and large scale illegalities & Irregularities.
He said that SBI is having 48 crore bank account holders, 66000 ATMs and fully digitalized and computerized then why it needs such a long time to share information about 22000 electoral bonds. It’s deliberate attempt by SBI on the instructions of Modi government, he added.
JKPCC Senior Vice President and Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma hit out at the Modi government and BJP for pressurising SBI not to share information as per Supreme Court directions and termed it serious issue. Supreme Court judgment has vindicated Congress stand & exposed BJP over the legalized corruption and loot through electoral bonds scheme.
He disclosed that government tried to scuttle Congress protests by imposing heavy restricted all over Jammu & Kashmir under the garb of PM visit and PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani was restrained from joining the protest by the police by not allowing him to move out of the hotel in Srinagar in the morning. He termed it panic of BJP and Modi government for resorting to such dictatorial & anti democratically approach.

Similar protests were held at Katua, Udhampur & some other places.
At udhampur the protests was led by – Vinod Khajuria DCC President accompanied by Former MLA Krishan Bhagat and others
At Kathua Protest was led by DCC President Pankaj Dogra and attended by large number of congress workers.
