Burglar arrested in Rajouri, stolen property worth over 4 lakhs recovered

In a swift action, Rajouri police arrested a thief and recovered stolen property worth over four lakh rupees from his possession.

The incident came to light on March 4th when Khalid Hussain Shah, resident of Kheora and owner of ‘Two Brothers Service Station’ in Bela Colony, filed a complaint alleging a burglary. Shah reported that some burglars had broken into his service station during the intervening night of March 3rd and 4th and decamped with equipment worth Rs. 4 lakh, including grinders, polishing machines, and car accessories.

Following the complaint, an FIR (First Information Report) numbered 84/2024 under sections 457 (House-breaking by night) and 380 (Theft) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Rajouri Police Station. The police promptly initiated an investigation.

“During the investigation, with the help of technical analysis, we were able to identify a suspect,” informed a police spokesperson. “The suspect, upon questioning, confessed to the crime and led us to the stolen items, which have all been recovered.”

The arrested accused has been identified as Raja Ather Hussain Mirza, son of Mohib-ul-Hassan Mirza, a resident of Dhandkote Darhal in Rajouri. Further legal proceedings are underway as the investigation into the burglary case continues.
