Where is Modi ji’s guarantee to refugees: Congress

JAMMU, March 15: Congress has questioned  where is PM Modi’s guarantee of 2014 to the POJK refugees, who  feel betrayed and cheated after 10 years of BJP regime. The BJP and Prime Minister Narinder Modi ji had made several commitments to  POJK refugees 2014 elections but nothing was fulfilled after 10 years except sanction of  a meagre  amount of 5.5 lacs out of 30 lac recommended by Congress coalition Govt. in J&K, besides several other recommendations for the youths.

JKPCC said that BJP had promised 30 Lac to each family, reservations to refugee youth  in central forces and professional & technical course all over India besides paying cash or making up deficiency of land to them.  He had also promised reservation of eight assembly seats for POJK  refugees out of 24 seats reserved for residents of POJK. Ten years of BJP rule, only meagre amount was sanctioned, through a cumbersome procedure for release, as a result several families are still left out but the scheme has been closed.  Nothing beyond this has been fulfilled and the promises proved false & election Jumlas,  the Congress said.  Only one seat in assembly has been reserved for them in nomination category against promise of 8 seats under elected category while there is total refusal with regard to the left out financial package of  24.5 lac, which needs to be revised after 10 years. They urged the refugee people to give a befitting reply to the BJP, as it betrayed the community and  ignored the struggle of the community. They extended full support to the refugees organizations for their non-political struggle for the just cause of the suffering community.

The signatories included Ravinder Sharma-former MLC, Senior Vice President and Chief  Spokesperson JKPCC,  Vice Presidents Yogesh Sawhney,  Vinod Sharma, General Secretaries  Pt. Pawan Raina & Amrit Bali, S. Amolak Singh, H.S. Mehta, Sahil Sharma,  Badri Nath Sharma, S. Rajinder Singh Nathu and  S. Gajan Singh.
