5 arrested, 6 vehicles seized for illegal mineral extraction in Baramulla
In a major crackdown on illegal mining activities, the Baramulla police seized three tippers and three tractors, and arrested five drivers for their involvement in the crime.

The operation targeted locations in Kunzer, Wanigam, and Mirangund areas of Baramulla district.
According to reports, the police parties acted under the supervision of senior officers and conducted raids in the specified locations.
At Kunzer, they seized two tippers and a tractor, along with arresting two drivers.
Similarly, in Wanigam and Mirangund, police apprehended three more drivers and confiscated their vehicles – one tipper and two tractors.
The police have registered cases against them under relevant sections of the law. Investigations are currently underway.
