3 hardcore criminals slapped PSA, Heroin supplier detained under PITNDPS Act in Samba
SAMBA, 21 March 2024: In a significant move to combat criminal activities and drug trafficking in the district, Samba Police, under the able guidance of SSP Samba Vinay Kumar, JKPS, has apprehended three hardcore criminals under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA). These individuals, identified as Kunal Teji S/o Rakesh Kumar R/o Ban Talab tehsil and district Samba, Devinder Singh @ Deepu S/o Ashok Singh R/o Kehli Mandi Samba A/P Rakh Amb Tali tehsil and district Samba and Sourav Singh Nagra S/O Sham Lal R/o Chak Salaria tehsil Ramgarh District Samba, have been involved in multiple criminal cases, posing a serious threat to public peace and tranquility.
Following their repeated engagement in criminal activities, detention orders were issued by the District Magistrate Samba based on detailed dossiers prepared by SSP Samba. The police teams, led by SHO PS Samba and SHO PS Ramgarh, successfully executed these warrants, leading to the incarceration of the accused in District Jail Kathua and District Jail Jammu respectively.
Additionally, with aim at curbing the illicit drug trade, Samba Police detained a notorious heroin supplier, Abdul Habib alias Bheem S/o Maon Din R/o Ladana tehsil Ramnagar district Udhampur A/P Badheri, Nanak Chak tehsil & district Samba, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act. Abdul Habib, known for spreading drug addiction within the community, was swiftly detained and confined to District Jail Kathua following the issuance of a detention order by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
This successful operation marks a significant step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the public and signifies Samba Police’s resolute stance against narcotics trafficking in the area.
