Jammu Police solves kidnapping, snatching case turned out to be concocted story
JAMMU, 23 March 2024: On 18.03.2024, one person namely Kala Khan S/O Mian Khan R/O Village Moghla Tehsil Teryath District Rajouri lodged a written complaint at Police Station Nowabad to the effect that at about 1930 hours he was going from Bus Stand, Jammu towards JP Chowk. When he reached near Hotel Vivek, two unknown Persons asked him whether he wants Hotel room on which he noded yes and they told him to accompany them. When he reached near Chand Kour Gurudwara Sahib, Chand Nagar along with them, two more unknown persons were waiting there in black coloured Car. All the 04 persons forcefully pushed him inside the vehicle, kidnapped him and drove to some unknown place where they snatched ₹5 lacs cash from him which he had kept in the pockets of his undershirt. He had received said amount from Pulwama after selling Goats/Sheep.
Sensing gravity of the matter, Case FIR No.44/2024 U/S 364/382/34 IPC was immediately registered at Police Station Nowabad & investigation taken up.
A special Police team headed By SHO Nowabad Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by PSI Aziz Tariq and HC Jehangir Khan was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Ashok Kumar Dy.SP Hqrs Jammu, Sh. Shivam Siddharth IPS, SP City North Jammu.
Police Team started investigation of the case in a very professional manner and after corroborating all the facts, collecting all the evidences, recording relevant statements became suspicious on the story narrated by complainant.
During thorough questioning of the complainant, he broke down and confessed that he had narrated a false story as he had to pay back around 7/8 Lacs to different persons from Budhal, Samote, Moghla, Teryath area as he had taken goats/sheep from them to sell them off in Kashmir. They were continuously demanding their money back from him. As he had no money because so many Goats/sheep died due to illness and owners were demanding their money back. He concocted a false story that he came back to Jammu from Pulwama with ₹5 Lacs cash and some unknown persons kidnapped him and snatched whole amount from him Just to get rid from the wrath of the persons to whom he had to pay back money.
Investigation of the case has been closed as not-admitted and for misleading police/reporting false story, proceedings U/S 182 IPC has been initiated against the complainant and separate Istgasa has been produced against him before the Hon’ble Court.
