Jammu police launches proclamation proceedings against PSA absconder

Jammu Police has started proceedings under Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against a proclaimed offender (PO) named Mukesh Kumar alias Gesha, who has been evading arrest for a long time.

Kumar, a resident of Akhnoor and a history sheeter at the Akhnoor Police Station, is wanted based on a warrant issued by the District Magistrate (DM), Jammu. To ensure his presence for arrest, Akhnoor Police initiated proclamation proceedings as mandated under Sections 12(a) & (b) of the Public Safety Act (PSA) 1978.

Following a review of all records, DM Jammu issued a proclamation notice directing Kumar to surrender to the authorities within 30 days. Failure to comply will result in legal action being taken against him.
