Jammu Makeup Queen Devyani Singh’s Natural Approach to Makeup Artistry Takes the Industry by Storm

Move over beauty influencers, there’s a new makeup maven in town and her name is Devyani Singh! This Jammu-based freelancer may have only been in the game for a year, but she’s already making waves and turning heads in the industry. Her story is one of defying expectations and following her passions, no matter the odds.

Growing up in Jammu, Devyani was always interested in makeup, fashion, and styling, but her parents wanted her to focus on academics and pursue a career in a more traditional field like clearing a competitive exam and getting a Government job. Despite this, she never gave up on her love of beauty. Even her guide in her master’s program encouraged her to pursue a career in the fashion and makeup industry.

It wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that Devyani truly began to make her mark in
the world of makeup. With her husband posted abroad, she decided to take a certification course in makeup from Meenakshi Dutt Makeovers Jammu. As a proud Army wife, she leveraged her knowledge to start conducting workshops on self-makeup for the spouses and children of the Armed Forces personnel. She also started beauty blogging to share to help others during a difficult time.


As she honed her skills and became a pro at whipping up stunning looks, Devyani’s
talent didn’t go unnoticed. She quickly gained recognition in the industry. And let’s just say, the girl is not one to rest on her laurels, she’s ready to take on the beauty world full time and make a name for herself. But let’s not forget, the road to the top isn’t always easy and Devyani knows it.

She’s well aware of the struggles that come with being a makeup artist, from the steep cost of courses and products to the constant haggling over prices by clients. But that’s not gonna stop her, she’s got her game face on and ready to tackle whatever comes her way.

Devyani knows what it takes to make it in the industry: creativity, having the gift of gab, and being able to work under pressure like a boss. She is also a firm believer in the power of social media, using platforms like Instagram Reels and Pinterest to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and techniques.

But what really sets Devyani apart from the rest of the makeup artist pack, is her
dedication to subtle, realistic makeup that enhances a person’s natural features and her refusal to use skin whitening products. She is a big fan of Namrata Soni, who is known for her subtle and realistic makeup.


Devyani’s family and relatives may have been surprised when she started her makeup journey, but she’s gone on to garner the support of her husband and friends, who’ve been with her every step of the way. Makeup has given her a sense of contentment and happiness that she couldn’t find in other fields, and she’s determined to make a successful career out of it. She’s on a mission to prove that with hard work and determination, anything is possible and she’s not gonna
let anything stand in her way.

Devyani’s talents, however, don’t stop at makeup artistry. Along with her father-in-law, she owns a farm in Uttar Pradesh where they do organic farming of superfoods like chia seeds, dragon fruits, quinoa, etc. which are scarcely grown in India. She’s also a share market aficionado who has been interested in the field for a long time and always has her finger on the pulse of the market. Her hobbies include baking, dancing, and painting. To top it all off, she is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, showing her dedication to both beauty and academia. She is determined to prove that one can have multiple passions and excel in them, breaking the stereotype that one should only focus on one field.

With her talent, passion, and dedication, Devyani Singh is sure to make a big impact in the world of makeup artistry and beyond.
