Ex-Minister Babu Ram Paul calls upon the youth to bring about change in J&k
SAMBA February 6: A worker’s convention was today organized by the Central Zone, JKNC at village Meen Sarkar of Samba district which was attended by hundreds of party workers, particularly the youth.
Former Minister and Zonal President JKNC, Babu Ram Paul was the chief guest and Surjeet Singh Manhas Provincial Joint Secretary JKNC presided over the convention. The convention was organized by Bharat Bhushan, Zonal Secretary JKNC and Co-ordinator Samba district.
Whereas Dr Vikas Sharma Zonal Secretary JKNC, Chander Udhay Singh, S. Nirmal Singh and BD Dalotra were the guests of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, Babu Rampaul urged upon the youth to get ready for playing a vital role to bring change. He said that the present scenario of Jammu and Kashmir has pushed the youth towards depression and anxiety as they are worried about their future presently looming in darkness.
“Unemployment among youth has also impacted the life of the educated youth who are concerned about their career for which their parents are in a doldrums and deeply worried about their children”, Ram Paul added.
Former Minister also said the National Conference has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of the society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He said NC has many achievements in its kitty and urged the party cadres to narrate them to the young generation so that they may come to know what NC has did for them in the past. He urged the cadres to believe in positivity and tell the achievements of the party rather than criticizing others.
Rampaul further said that the land eviction drive launched by the present JKUT Administration is unjustified and appealed to the Lt. Governor to adopt a lenient approach in favour of residential and commercial beneficiaries, so that the common and poor people who are under grave threat of losing their shelters and livelihood may get a sigh of relief. He said that any government is expected to provide shelter and jobs to its citizens but unfortunately the present administration is working diametrically in the opposite direction, he rued.
He also urged youth to come forward and support Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Jenab Omar Abdullah in the forthcoming elections.
Surjeet Singh Manhas while speaking on the occasion said that National Conference has always worked for the downtrodden section of the society and believes in equality, communal brotherhood and justice for all. He said that those spreading communalism will never succeed as the people have now realized their agenda and motive, he emphasized appealing the people to beware of such nefarious forces having communal agenda.
Bharat Bhushan also addressed the youth and lashed out at Centre for playing with the future of youth by imposing ill-conceived policies on them. “Youth is under depression due to large scale corruption in the recruitment processes and have no avenues for jobs. It is a very discouraging situation whereas during the NC regime, youth got a maximum number of jobs and education was also affordable but now, the situation is totally different,” he said.
Dr Vikas Sharma gave a call to youth of the region to come out of their comfort zones and launch a struggle for their rights under the banner of the National Conference.
He mentioned that during the Jenab Omar Abdullah led NC government, jobs were provided to a large number of youth, RTI Act was enacted to eradicate corruption and several other revolutionary steps were taken to push J&K on the path of development. He expressed that NC will bring back the golden era for people of J&K.
