GDC Ramgarh organises campaign to provide Water to Birds

SAMBA, MAY 21: National Service Scheme unit ‘Prabha’ of Government Degree College Ramgarh, in collaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences, organized a campaign to provide water to birds to highlight the importance of showing compassion to all living beings in the college premises.


The event was conducted under able guidance and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal of the College. In her address, she emphasized the importance of such initiatives which will support our local ecosystem. She appreciated the initiative of NSS Unit and applauded the efforts.


The NSS volunteers initiated the drive by placing earthen pots filled with water throughout the college premises to quench the thirst of birds, butterflies etc. Prof. Brham Dutt, Program Officer, NSS and PTI Ashok Kumar supervised the whole drive, and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra compiled and reported the event.


This initiative aims to provide essential hydration to birds during the hot summer months, enhancing biodiversity and fostering a connection with nature among students and faculty. Moreover, the NSS volunteers promise to regularly maintain and refill the earthen pots to ensure a continuous supply of fresh water for the birds.


All the faculty and NSS volunteers actively participated in the drive.
