Jammu police crackdown on bovine smuggling: 58 vehicles face registration suspension or cancellation

In a major step to curb bovine smuggling, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have identified 58 vehicles allegedly involved in the illegal activity. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Vinod Kumar has written to the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu, recommending strong action against these vehicles.

This initiative comes under Operation Kamdhenu, a police drive aimed at eradicating bovine smuggling in the region. The authorities have identified these vehicles through multiple FIRs registered against them at various police stations across the Jammu district.

The SSP has urged the RTO to consider suspending or even cancelling the registration of these vehicles that have been found to be involved in bovine smuggling on three or more occasions. The letter also includes a station-wise list of the identified vehicles and the cases registered against them.
