District Magistrate Jammu bans use of draught and pack animals in peak heat to prevent cruelty
In a move to protect animals from the harsh summer sun, the Jammu district administration has issued an order restricting the use of animals for carrying loads during the hottest part of the day.
The order, issued by District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya, prohibits the use of animals like buffaloes, bullocks, ponies, mules, donkeys, and camels for work that involves pulling carts or carrying loads between 12 noon and 3:00 PM. This restriction comes into effect immediately and will remain in place for the next two months, or until further notice.
