In a significant development aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks, Police in Kupwara’s Handwara have attached properties valued at approximately ₹7.5 crore (75 million rupees) belonging to drug peddlers in the past five months. This decisive action underscores the authorities’ commitment to combating the menace of drug trafficking in the region.

The properties attached include houses, vehicles, and other assets. The enforcement of property attachment serves as a deterrent against those involved in drug peddling and aims to disrupt their illegal operations.

This action follows a series of investigations into drug trafficking cases registered against these individuals. The attached properties are believed to have been acquired through proceeds from illegal drug sales.
