Assam Rifles undertakes multiple plantation drives to promote environmental sustainability in Tripura, Assam & Manipur
June 6 : In a remarkable display of commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, Assam Rifles organized multiple plantation drives across Tripura, Assam and Manipur on 05 June 2024, marking World Environment Day.
At the Agartala Garrison in West Tripura District, Assam Rifles conducted a significant plantation drive, planting 500 saplings, including both fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing trees. Collaborating with the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Unakoti, another Mass Plantation Drive was held at Radhanagar, Tripura, where over 500 saplings of various local species were planted along the Radhanagar-Unakoti highway.
Additionally, Assam Rifles organized a tree plantation drive in Jaluria, Assam, as part of the Meri Life Campaign, planting 150 saplings to promote ecosystem preservation. The AR personnel also planted 50 saplings in Kadamtala, Jiribam District of Manipur.
These combined efforts underscore Assam Rifles’ dedication to fostering environmental conservation and community involvement.
