“Entire world knew that Narendra Modi would become PM for the third time”: Chhattisgarh Governor
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan expressed confidence in Narendra Modi securing a third term as Prime Minister ahead of the scheduled meeting of NDA partners on Friday.
NDA meeting will take place at the central hall of the Parliament today.
“In the entire world, the people knew that PM Modi would come as the Prime Minister for the third time. The country expected and the people expected that Narendra Modi will become the PM,” Harichandan said.
As per the sources, discussions will be held on government formation by the grand alliance. This comes after the NDA crossed the majority mark bagging 293 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. However, the BJP managed to secure only 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally.
Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Arun Sao, confirmed the party’s plans and said that several meetings will be held today.
“On the instructions given by the party, we are going to Delhi. Tomorrow several meetings of the party will be held. PM Modi will very soon be sworn in as the Prime Minister. It will be a historic moment,” Sao said on Thursday.
Chhattisgarh’s Deputy CM, Vijay Sharma, also highlighted the significance of the upcoming meetings.
“Tomorrow, important meetings will be held. All the MPs and BJP-governed state CMs and Deputy CMs will be attending the meetings. We will be part of the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi,” Sharma said on June 6.
In Delhi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha underscored the public’s support for Modi ahead of the meeting and said, “The people have once again given the mandate for making PM Modi the Prime Minister again. This mandate was despite the lies spread by the Opposition. It is a big blessing by the public.”
“Don’t worry about the JD(U). They have been with the NDA for long. There would not be any problem,” he added.
Both Naidu and Janata Dal (U) chief Nitish Kumar will have a greater say in the NDA as the BJP falls 32 seats short of a full majority on its own, unlike in the last two NDA governments at the Centre.
Though the JD (U) and the TDP stated that they would stay in the NDA, the INDIA bloc did not stop wooing them.
At the INDIA bloc meeting, the leaders said that doors should be kept open for the TDP and the JD (U).
Additionally, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) will hold a parliamentary party meeting today at 9:30 am under the leadership of Party president Chirag Paswan in Delhi.
In a show of unity and support, 21 NDA leaders signed a resolution at a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence on Wednesday, unanimously electing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their leader.
The resolution praised PM Modi’s efforts in nation-building, the welfare of the poor, and development, reaffirming their commitment to these objectives.
According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally of 303. The Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong improvement, winning 99 seats. While the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 292 seats, the INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing stiff competition, and defying all predictions.
