Traffic to remain suspended between Nashri-Banihal stretch on NH-44 for repairs
JAMMU, 10 June 2024: The traffic on the 270-km Jammu-Srinagar NH 44 will remain suspended between Nashri and Banihal stretch tonight for urgent repairs, a traffic department official said on Monday.
The vehicular traffic from both sides on the NH 44, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country, will remain suspended from 6 pm on Tuesday till the completion of the repair work, the official said.
“No movement of any kind of vehicle including Fresh perishable/Livestock will be allowed on NH-44 today on 11-06-2024 (Tuesday) after 6 pm from Qazigund towards Ramban, similarly no vehicular movement shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) after 5 pm and from Udhampur 6 pm. Commuters are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 till the work is completed”, the officials informed.
