DC Doda supervises rescue operation at Assar accident site

DODA, JUNE 10: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, along with Tehsildar Assar, ARTO and other officers, supervised the rescue operation at an accident site in Assar, here today.


The tragic accident occurred on NH-244 at village Kurmail, Tehsil Assar yesterday night at approximately 10:30 pm.
A Maruti S-Presso vehicle bearing registration No JK06A-8724, on way from Jammu to Doda, skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Wani Morh in village Kurmail, Tehsil Assar.


The unfortunate incident resulted in the on-spot death of a person identified as Ram Raj, son of Amar Chand, resident of Village Priyote, Tehsil Doda. Ram Raj, a Police official was posted as a Head Constable in Police Station Bus Stand Jammu.


The deceased body was evacuated from the accident site at 10:00 am this morning and shifted to PHC Assar for the postmortem.
The DC expressed his deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and assured all necessary support and assistance during this difficult time. He emphasized the importance of road safety and urged all commuters to exercise caution while traveling on highways.
