Union Home Secretary chairs meeting to review the Progress of three New Criminal Laws
Leh, June 14, 2024: The Union Home Secretary chaired a pivotal meeting through video conferencing with the various heads of the states and UTs, and reviewed overall progress and preparedness for the implementation of three new laws that are coming into force on 1st July 2024.
The meeting focussed on key aspects including the preparedness of police, human resources, training, infrastructure, and capacity building.
During the meeting, the concerned heads from various States and UTs presented a comprehensive overview about their preparedness for the successful implementation of three new Laws.
Highlighting the significance of these laws, the Union Home Secretary said that all the problems will be sorted out altogether. Additionally, he said that awareness programmes and discussions should be geared up in higher education departments for awareness.
The Union Home Secretary specifically directed the Police department to organize awareness programmes in all police stations on 1st July.
The meeting was attended by the Advisor to UT Ladakh; and all committee members of the UT level Steering Committee on three new laws.
