Deputy Commissioner inaugurates event to celebrate World Blood Donor Day at GMC Rajouri
RAJOURI, JUNE 14: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today inaugurated the event to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day at Government Medical College Rajouri, organized by the Department of Blood Transfusion.
Among the others, Principal Dr. AS Bhatia, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehmood Bajaar and HOD Dr. Irm Yasmeen were also present on the occasion.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating 20 Years of Giving: Thank You, Blood Donors,” underscores the vital role of blood donations in providing timely care and enhancing patient health.
Dr. ML Rana, Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, and Mr. Ashraf Haqla, Chief Accounts Officer GMC Rajouri, Dr. Irm Yasmeen beside other officials were present on the occasion.
Attendees took a pledge to donate blood and raise awareness about the need for voluntary blood donation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged people to donate blood voluntarily as it is a great service to humanity and helps in saving precious lives. He said that our single drop of blood can save precious lives and we should participate in such programmes for safeguarding humanity.
The event also featured the felicitation of voluntary blood donors and a mega quiz organized by the Department of Blood Transfusion, with participation from students across various courses of GMC Rajouri.
