Ashok Koul Commends Tawi Andolan’s Decade-Long Efforts for Revival of Suryaputri Tawi at Ganga-Dushera Event

Jammu, June 17: Ashok Koul, State Gen Org. Sectt BJP JK supported all pursuits undertaken by Tawi Andolan for revival of prestigious glory Suryaputri Tawi, He was addressing the gathering at Tawi Arti Ghat Biram Chowk Jammu East in program Ganga-Dushera. Koul praised Tawi Andolan for its continuance and relentless working of Tawi Andolan for last morethan 10 years.


Chander Mohan Sharma, BJP Senior Leader and Chairman Tawi Andolan, demanded creation of Tawi Development Board as Tawi is revered as shrine throughout its 150 kms run through different districts of Jammu Division. He expressed satisfaction on creation of artificial lake. He further said that at present, river Tawi is being dealt by different govt department and their departments working in tandem, therefore affecting in the development Tawi as Tourism destinations. For coordination of working of these concerned departments, a common authority as Tawi Development Board is required.


Prof Rajinder Mishra, JU gave historical facts and importance of celebrating Ganga Dushera. Smt Veena Bakshi Women Wing Incharge of Sehkar Bharti, an organisation dedicated for empowerment of people through cooperatives said that the Sehkar Bharti has started tradition of celebrating Ganga Dushera in J&K. it will keep its efforts for bringing prosperity through cooperative means.


S. Kulwant Singh Bhatti gave a detailed account of martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev JI and his contributions for the welfare for the society. He paid rich tribute to 5th Guru. Devotional songs were recited by famous singers Nidhi, Ganesh Dass, Megha Raina, Sunita Kundal, Satpal Raina and Ram Lal.

S Balwinder Singh Bhatia gave vote of thanks and after performing the Aarti, diyas were floated in hundreds by the activists into the river.
