CU Jammu & Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Nagrota, conduct collaborative training on Basic Life Support program
Jammu, June 22, 2024 – The Central University of Jammu (CUJ), in collaboration with the Skill and Simulation Centre, Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare (RIHFW), Nagrota, Jammu, successfully conducted two day comprehensive training program on basic Life Support (BLS) from June 19 to June 20, 2024. The program was coordinated by Dr. Vijaya Puri, Senior Medical Officer under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, CUJ.
The training aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of University security staff and hostel attendants, focusing on advanced medical practices and simulation-based learning. The initiative underscores the commitment of CUJ to spread healthcare education.
Dr. Manoj Bhagat, Principal of RIHFW/JSSC Nagrota, Jammu, led the training sessions. His extensive expertise in healthcare training and simulation ensured a high-quality learning experience for all participants.
Dr. Shelly Mahajan, National Master Trainer (ICRC, Delhi) from RIHFW Nagrota, Jammu, brought her vast experience in health training to the program, enriching the sessions with her insights and practical knowledge.
Rajeev Gupta, In-Charge Coordinator of the Skill Lab at RIHFW Nagrota, Jammu, provided hands-on training in the skill lab, focusing on practical applications of medical procedures.
Kewal Sharma, MTS at RIHFW Nagrota, Jammu, assisted in coordinating the simulation exercises and ensuring the smooth operation of the training program. The two-day program covered a range of topics essential for modern healthcare practice, including advanced life support techniques, emergency response and management, simulation-based training for various medical scenarios and best practices in patient care and safety.
The training featured a blend of theoretical sessions and hands-on practical exercises. Participants engaged in simulation exercises that replicated real-life medical scenarios, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a controlled, educational environment.
The training received enthusiastic feedback from participants, who appreciated the opportunity to enhance their skills and learn from distinguished experts in the field. The interactive nature of the program and the use of advanced simulation technology were particularly highlighted as beneficial.
