Arrangements for celebration of Shab-e Meraj, Maha Shivratri finalized at Kupwara

KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 11: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Difode Sagar Dattatray today finalized the arrangements for the celebration of upcoming festivals Shab-e-Meraj and Maha Shivratri in the district.

While finalizing the arrangements, the DC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure fool-proof arrangements.

He directed the concerned officers to conduct joint market checking to control profiteering and black marketing of essential commodities by traders.

The Executive Engineer, Electric division Kupwara and Handwara, Executive engineer STD Grid Sopore and Executive Engineer PHE division Kupwara and Handwara were directed to ensure availability of uninterrupted power Supply and portable drinking water supply especially at all shrines and mosques  where huge congregations are expected.

Directions were passed to concerned officers for ensuring other arrangements including security arrangements, deployment of Magistrates, cleanliness drive, and availability of essential commodities, Rice, Atta, Sugar ,Kerosene oil and LPG,

Orders were issued to concerned officers for keeping available Medicare facilities, fire tenders, and hassle-free transport and better traffic management.

Chief Medical officer Kupwara and Medical Superintendent District hospital Handwara were directed to keep available teams of doctors along with sufficient Medicare at all the health institutions round the clock to meet out any exigency.

For celebration of the upcoming festival of Maha Shivratri, the DC directed Sr.Superintendent of Police Kupwara and SP Handwara to make adequate security arrangements at required places especially at congregational places to avoid any law and order problem.

Chief Agriculture officer, Kupwara has been directed to ensure availability of fresh vegetables on all the days of Maha Shivratri.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara directed Executive officer Municipality Kupwara, Handwara and Langate for launching of cleanliness drive at the places where the main congregation will be held.
